How it works

  • Save AVA’s number to their phone

  • If they’re unexpectedly off, they WhatsApp AVA as soon as possible

  • AVA will ask for:

    • Their name

    • Reason for absence

    • Sick note details (or when to check back in)

    • Any message for their manager

  • AVA logs the absence and notifies the line manager instantly

The employer journey

How it works

  • AVA captures employee absence via WhatsApp in a consistent, structured format

  • Managers/HR receive a clear, standardised notification including:

    • Employee name

    • Date reported

    • Reason for absence

    • Any employee message

  • Managers/HR remain responsible for:

    • Follow-up with the employee

    • Return-to-work conversations

    • Ongoing absence management

    • Ongoing absences are updated in line with existing policy, with full manager/HR oversight

AVA is the single reporting route for unplanned absence; all other leave follows existing processes.
